We are proud to announce that we have gained our UKAS Inspection Body Accreditation for Road Signs and Lighting Columns in Inspection.
After a nine month process, Electrical Testing have been awarded the globally recognised UKAS accreditation: ISO/IEC 17020:2012. This is a sought after accreditation by central and local government departments – as well as public and private sector companies – as part of their tender process. Given the high risks associated with electrical work at this level, our ability to demonstrate due diligence is essential when it comes to appointing correctly accredited companies to undertake electrical work to ensure best practice, competence in tasks taken on and confidence in workmanship.
Having official UKAS accreditation further validates the quality of the services that Electrical Testing provide. It positions us as the only highways services provider in the country with this UKAS certification, and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to technical competence in performing various types of inspection, surveys and risk assessments.
Simon Hobbs, Managing Director for Electrical Testing says, “Achieving the UKAS accreditation sets us apart from everyone else in the industry, allowing us to expand the business both nationally and internationally, with a globally recognised accolade.”
“The UKAS accreditation will ensure further growth of our business which has seen year-on-year growth since its inception thirty years ago. As part of the UKAS process, we now benefit from improved calibration of the instruments we use as part of our testing equipment. This allows a more robust process and improved repeatability ensuring a greater level of accuracy in tasks undertaken. Coupled with our expanding in-house training centre, offering City & Guilds training and already recognised as the leading provider of Highways Electrical courses in the country, we can upskill our staff internally. This means we can be confident in providing exceptional and unrivalled quality, skills and service throughout every aspect of the business, “
This accreditation will now allow us further opportunity to bid for more specialist work which is important to the business in the challenging months and years ahead.
